Vin Diesel is one of my very favorite actor. Now he is working 3 big future movie sequels. Here are the details:

Fast & Furious Revs Up To Fifth Gear

Title: The Fast and the Furious: Fifth Gear
Release: 2011

News:
The Fast & The Furious star Paul Walker has confirmed the action franchise is to be extended for a fifth time - with plans for a new movie set in Europe.

The actor starred in the original film, The Fast & The Furious, in 2001 alongside Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel.

Walker returned for the sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, in 2003 with a different cast but sat out the third installment, 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Walker reunited with Diesel and Rodriguez to reprise their original roles for this year's sequel, simply titled Fast & Furious - and the star admits movie bosses are already working on another follow up, taking the series to five movies.

He tells MoviesOnline, "It's beyond rumours at this point. I've spoken with executives at Universal and they're pretty serious about it. They're developing it. They know where they want it to take place. They want to do it in Europe."

Third "Riddick" Film Begins Scouting

Location scouting on a new film in the Riddick franchise has begun in New Zealand says Vin Diesel's Facebook page. The post also indicates David Twohy has finished the script for the third film featuring the character. Diesel first played the gruff, sliver-eyed anti-hero Riddick in the well-received cult hit "Pitch Black" in 2000. Four years later he reprised the role in 2004's generally panned big-budget flop "The Chronicles Of Riddick". Diesel has also voiced the character in the animated short "Dark Fury" and the video games 'Escape from Butcher Bay' and 'Assault on Dark Athena'. Twohy has indicated the film will be an R-rated feature and more modestly budgeted along 'Pitch' lines which allows him and Vin more creative control.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (2011)

Source 1:

If there is one franchise I hate more than almost all others, it's got to be the xXx franchise that began way back in 2002. I have never seen nor will ever see either the first xXx or xXx: State of the Union. In my mind, the first movie effectively began Vin Diesel's downfall into the world of The Pacifier. So I'm incredibly sad to report today that the idiots at Sony have decided to bring back director Rob Cohen, whose last film The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was hated by all, and star Vin Diesel, whose last film Babylon A.D. flopped big, for a third film, titled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. First things first, that sounds like a title for a porno more than anything, and secondly, how in the hell did this happen?!

The funniest part of this news is that the studio has a title, as we mentioned above, but not a script. So they've started putting together details on a film called xXx: The Return of Xander Cage but haven't even hired or started writing a script - wow. Both Vin Diesel and Rob Cohen have agreed to return but haven't signed any contracts, so as long as Sony keeps thinking this is a good idea, it'll happen much sooner than later. How anyone ever thought this was a good idea is completely beyond me. I know there are fans of xXx out there, but this is entirely unnecessary. I can't wait until we hear more details and I can begin predicting how much of a failure this will be and how absolutely terrible it'll turn out.

I'm guessing this idea is inspired by Diesel's return to the Fast and the Furious franchise and the buzz for the upcoming Fast and Furious. Diesel didn't even return for xXx: State of the Union and skipped out on the second and third Fast and the Furious movies, too. I thought our economy was pretty bad right now, but apparently Diesel is being paid enough to return to two abandoned franchises. Anyone excited?

Source 2:

Although the character of Xander Cage was apparently killed off in the sequel to explain his absence, the character apparently survived as Vin Diesel has announced that he will be returning as Xander Cage in a second sequel, entitled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, which is slated for release in summer 2011. Although as yet the script is to be completed, Diesel has agreed to return and so has the director of xXx, Rob Cohen. Diesel has said that the style and music will also be similar to that of the original film, more of what the fans want, with an emphasis on extreme stunts and with a heavy metal soundtrack. Joe Roth is in talks to produce. According to Cohen, he has also approached Sony, and "now we're writing a script with the guys who wrote Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation. So we'll do another Xander Cage XXX. We'll bring it up to speed a bit and bring back the extreme sports guy who's drafted to be a spy."
